Suzie Smith’s site-specific installation, Quiet Forms is new work commissioned by Plug In ICA for the Centennial Concert Hall (555 Main Street) on the Piano Nobile Wall. For this project, Smith uses musical notations, which she bends, twists and folds to create meandering sculptural forms. The artist then scanned, enlarged and printed the collaged assemblages to create a unified mural that flows as a continued pattern.

Lisa Kehler Art + Projects is pleased to present Suzie Smith | one thing, then another – the artist’s first solo exhibition with the gallery. Smith will present a new body of work that plays with deconstructed systems and process through print, sculpture and animation.

Constuction Paper est une série de sculptures de papier plié, présentées en multiples. Àpartir de modélisations 3D, l’artiste réalise des patrons pliables et les reproduit en utilisant la sérigraphie et l’impression numérique, créant ainsi un simulacre extrêmement réaliste d’outils et d’objets usuels qui induisent au premier regard un effet de trompe-l’œil chez le spectateur.

hand-painted is a series of varied edition prints that explore how we see and understand the handmade. Suzie Smith plays with ideas of truth and fiction, inviting the viewer into the artist’s process. The works show how many variations can stem from one idea and play with existing perceptions about fine art and craft.
