Unravelling Infinity, (installation), digital print on poly-paper, 3 panels covering 140’, Skolnick Surgical Tower, Mount Sinai Medical Center, Miami, Florida
March 17 – Aug. 1, 2019
Unravelling Infinity is inspired by both the built environment and natural landscapes of Miami Beach. Starting with a picture of a 1940’s apartment block facade from the Flamingo-Lummus area, the image is then repeated, folded and bent into new shapes. These new shapes mimic the natural landscape, recalling waves, mangrove trees and coral. They also reference the Art Deco and Streamline Moderne architectural styles found in the area. Unravelling Infinity points to a tension between ideas of progress and preservation and drawing attention to how we see and construct the world around us.
